Well, after many delays and bouts of procrastinating over detail, I finally got around to finishing my Chapters Captain.

Some of you may remember the original from here: [link]
I know... it's dark and rather... blah. ^^;

There have been many rule changes since I started Caspian here. Namely to the Codex Space Marine Chapters. Since I can no longer field a Master of the Chapter with the command squad I own, I decided to demote him. Hopefully he won't resent me for it in any future battles. :D

I think this has to be one of the better paint jobs I've done. Especially the purity scrolls and the cross on the front. The emerald on his braid clasp, and the campaign badge on his left knee, worked out pretty well too.

I've also been rethinking my Chapters name. I kinda slapped together the name, Sacred Knights. Now it just seems corny somehow. I decided to swap out "Sacred" for "Celestial". So they're the Celestial Knights. Any thoughts?

Badass looking mini, how did you paint the gold?

I used a few tricks and tips I picked up through White Dwarf. :)

Since the colors I used aren't being made anymore, I'll tell you what I've currently used to replace them:

- Start with a base of Balthasar Gold, then apply Gehenna's Gold.

- Once that's dry, you put down two washes. First a wash of Seraphim Sepia, then a wash of Druchi Violet in the recesses.

- After that dry's, put another coat of Gehenna's Gold, then Auric Gold, and finally a edge highlight of 1:1 Auric and Runefang Steel.

Thank you very much! I may use this method of painting gold on my Plague Marines. :)

Thank you very much, Woodland. :)

As I remember it the chest eagle gave me a fair bit of trouble getting right. The aiguillette was fairly hard to get the right shade of red as well.

Nice!

I'm about to paint a figure I've made, but I'm too scared of messing it up so I haven't started yet :(
If it ends up half as good as this I will be happy :D
